If you can’t find a game you want to play at Origins, you’re just not trying hard enough. Our wargaming we highlighted in an earlier article, but here’s plenty of other games to check out – including a few wacky, home-brew, and off-the-wall ones – and we’ve still got more to come.
There was a wide variety of gaming going on all over Origins, and we’ve already focused on our wargaming corner of the world in an earlier article. What we’ve got here are a couple of galleries of different games on tables, with much more from the gaming halls to come soon.

For our fifth year at Origins (and our fifth straight year of not having our name right in the site book!) the GrogHeads crew set up our Central Command for wargaming at Origins. Located over the C-Hall, one of the two gaming halls, we were a little further back from the front doors than in years past, but still hard to miss near the CABS Board Room.
Interestingly enough, we were probably one of the 4- or 5-most-filmed booths at Origins, mainly because we were in the background of most of the video the guys posted from The Dice Tower, who were right across the aisle from us. We were in hailing distance of Academy Games’ playing area, and wedged in between the minis paint-&-take, and the Star Realms deckbuilder. Most importantly, we had our own little chunk of concrete for gaming, and we made the most of it.
Actually, yes. Origins weekend is usually the same weekend as the annual Columbus Pride Parade, so on Saturday, if you want a parking space that’s any closer than the airport, you need to get here early – and that means 0730 for me, with Bayonet Jr in tow. It also means, that since our first ‘thing’ today (family photo with the Grogs!) isn’t until 0900, there’s time to write.
