In our previous installment I was clawing my way up the social ladder one marriage at a time. First I married a rather lustful but socially anonymous woman with the hope that I would be able to at least procreate several children. As the time ripened

I arranged the marriages of my daughter and son to well-connected nobility…

ckii

The marriage is approved, I take the Prestige as opposed to the money, I have a small amount of money – but no Prestige.

CKII

Oberto Junior’s marriage to Cecile is also approved…………

ckii

………..and Full House – Giuditta’s marriage to the French Prince is also confirmed.

ckii

It’s cities that earn the money in CKII – I raise the taxes to high, after a couple of weeks the motion is passed amongst the vassals.

ckii

This is so alien to me having played the King of Leon in Spain and had full control of my troops! The Emperor just raises my troops and takes them off for his war against Pomerania. I’ll give him this though, when the HRE marches, it really marches, this is just Italy, further North the whole of Middle Europe is mobilised.

ckii

I take the hedonism hit, I now have a fertility bonus of 40% and the Mrs. Has one of 20%………………………

ckii

……………..what can i say?

ckii

Miss di Palma II, apple of my eye, my pride and joy and in about 16 years will be the bringer of much Prestige.

ckii

He has a point, well 2 actually – he gets the job

ckii

Dad’s feeling lonely and wants a wife too – I find him a fine, nubile 18 year old Dutch courtier who just happens to have 20 Intrigue to teach the children of the court how to stab people in the back and spy and stuff.

In part 3 – bad haircuts, the Bulgarian Band, evil plots, and expansion.
