Airboy’s extended AAR across the Pacific rolls on ~

My primary objective is protecting the Henderson Field airstrip. The four secondary objectives are: raid Tenaru; raid Matanikau; destroy 5 Japanese aircraft and protect both construction groups. The construction groups are one bulldozer unit close to Henderson Field and one Seabees unit in the North coastal area. Both are weak and immobile.

There is a lot of ground to defend and holding the airfield is critical. Initially I have only one fighter unit. I attached truck or half-tracks to most of the Marine infantry. My initial forces had one Lee tank.

Primary and secondary objectives

Lots of ground to defend

Turn 1 and shifting all units but two to the North

Turn 2 and my Seabee unit is almost destroyed

Repulsed the first Jap attack

Turn 3 with local counter-attack

Yikes another attack coming

Turn 6 – Japs keep coming

Turn 8 and I was almost surrounded

But I repulsed the attack

Turn 9 and they got by me

Turn 9 a two front attack and I’m barely holding on

Turn 10 finds me in dire shape. The Japanese coordinated attacks from the East and West. Fortunately, the Marines received major reinforcements. Without those reinforcements I would have lost Henderson Field.

Turn 10 Reinforcements Save Henderson Field

Turn 11 and attack from the East is destroyed

Turn 11 and West attack also destroyed

Turn 13 and the Marines are advancing in the East
