News! Civilization VI Announced! Squeeeee!

We’ve known it was coming for a while, but the official announcement is always cause for celebration.

2K and Firaxis Games are excited to celebrate the 25thanniversary of the Civilization series by announcing that Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI, the next entry in the news-civ6award-winning turn-based strategy franchise, is currently in development for PC. Sid Meier’s Civilization VI will offer players new ways to interact with their world, expand their empire across the map, advance their culture, and compete against history’s greatest leaders to build a civilization to stand the test of time.

“Sid Meier’s Civilization games hold a reputation for defining the 4X gaming genre for the past 25 years,” said Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K. “We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the silver anniversary of our longest-running franchise than launching the eagerly anticipated Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, which will provide the most detailed, beautiful and complete experience ever featured in a Civilization game.”

So we’ve unified some borders, and chased around some Canadians.  We’ve upgraded our ka-chunkadas to Landships and scored ourselves a title in the process.  Moving right along…

My influence is decaying.  Not sure whacking some Canadian interlopers is going to help much, but lets see.

No current quests mean that I won’t boost my influence with these guys for rolling over that barbarian camp.

Last session, the war against Pulias to our north came and went.  And oh yeah, I’ve got spies that I needed to send.

So we’ve knocked out 33% of our nearest neighbor’s potential population and production, then had him bribing us to back off. But we’ve barely explored the rock we’re on and it’s time to go looking around.

First Naval Unit
Since we’ve got a barracks in every city, we open up with a free promotion. This is our first naval exploration unit, so we’re going with mobility. Some folks might argue for the sentry promotion to see further without having to travel as far, but I prefer to be able to close and kill folks faster if we have to.
