Mary Poppins Returns
« on: January 11, 2019, 12:18:02 PM »
We saw it this week and enjoyed it.  Two of the songs could have made it into the original "Mary Poppins."  This Mary dances far better than Julie Andrews.  This Mary has a very good voice, but not to the level of a young Julie Andrews.  The dance numbers, animation, etc.... are all very well done.

Seeing the dance numbers and the animation on the big screen was a plus.

The movie is darker than the original.  The Banks children have grown up.  The son is now widowed, and mourns the loss of his wife as does his three children.  They are struggling to keep their home from being foreclosed.

My family saw it as well over the holidays. One of the better movies we've seen recently.
"Everything you read on the internet is true." - Benjamin Franklin

"Zero-G and I feel fine....." - John Glenn

"I reject your reality and substitute my own." - Adam Savage, inventor of the alternative fact.
