One of the things that's very entertaining, to me, is how little we - well, I, at any rate - understood about Ruchel's defeat.  I spent the entire game unsure how many forces we had trapped - if any!  And I was not certain if they had gotten away, or what.  We were pretty sure we had put Weimar's division to flight, but even there wasn't obvious if that meant "they ran away" or "they were shattered beyond repair" or what.

Likewise, the encounter with Scharnhorst's cavalry left us unsure just how much might be at Weimar.

Like Lannes, I need to get on with it and put up the dispatches - his have made fun reading for me.

Oh, I don't know.  My happiest moment in this game was when our esteemed umpire informed me that it was your troops whose nose I bloodied ;)  Dice had to be involved in that exchange :)

Because of Lannes dispatches, I, too, will have to troll through and post up the dispatches where my original "diary" left off...

I think I'll do the same.  It's been interesting hearing about that big battle, I had no idea..
Gen. Montgomery: "Your men don't salute much."
Gen. Freyberg: "Well, if you wave at them they'll usually wave back."

Blucher.  It was the little engagement outside Weimar at the end of the 14th.  :-[

Right, I've resurrected my Ruchel's Diary thread with dispatches from where it left off.
