I find myself somewhat bored of my limited Steam Library and with my TIGHT budget I don't have the funds to buy anything right now (even with all the sales going on....unless there is something I'm missing for $5-$10  :-\)

Anywho......anything goes. The ONLY thing I'm not really into are shooters and space sims.

Recommend away.

Thanks folks

Not sure if recommending a private server is allowed here.  If not then a moderator can delete this post.

There is a Warhammer Online private server where you can play for free:  https://www.returnofreckoning.com/index.php

They have made many changes and improvements to the original game even though they don't have control of the client side yet.

What kind of games are you normally into? Anything specific on Steam?

Battle for Wesnoth is always worth a play https://www.wesnoth.org/

Or how about some interactive fiction (text adventures). There are thousands of those available. I usually run through a few from the latest ifcomp when I'm feelign bored https://ifcomp.org/

Or something point 'n clicky from Adventure Game Studio: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/

You can pick up OOTP17 and Roller Coaster Tycoon Deluxe  for almost nothing in the latest Humble Tycoon Bundle (8 day 21h left):

and/or TIS100 and Legend of Grimrock 2 in the Staff picks bundle (1d21h left):

Plus I've heard good things about Card Hunter:

and the action RPG Path of Exile:

Star Trek Online has a shit load of content without a penny paid to experience it.

Alternatively something like Halcyon 6, or FTL is cheap as chips. usually.

Or try proper roguelikes, most of them are free to play.

Brogue, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, TOME4, Angband, Frozen Depths etc.

Open TTD..voted by many groups as THE best free game available. Train sim..and very deep one at that.

Sometimes I wonder what compels me to buy games  :D

DCS World

definitely.  The Free SU-25 is a very interesting palne.  Or "plane" even.

I'll second Battle of Wesnoth. Great fantasy wargame, and free.

People's Tactics (forerunner to Advanced Tactics Gold) is free, IF it will run on your OS. Doesn't like Win 10, at least on my computer. I recommend Advanced Tactics, and it's on sale right now at Matrix I think.

Been having some fun with Hearthstone, though I'm not generally into collectible card game stuff. You do sort of run into a wall going up against folks that spend $$$ to build their decks but I'm still having fun ATM.

Steel Panthers World at War, old school, but zillions of scenarios out there.

War Thunder, or World of Tanks are free up to a point. To be honest I had the most fun in WoT at the very lowest levels anyway. I'm sure I will feel the same if I progress much further in War Thunder as well. Once they start piling on maintenance etc the glamour wore off for me.

Trackmania Nations Forever is free. Think Hot Wheels cars, that you are driving. Insane tracks, raced against the clock. Definite case of "just one more try" for me, I've spent countless hours going for the top medals on each track. Recommend keyboard over controller, and either over a wheel for this one.

Tagpro is free. Capture the flag, if you were a red or blue ball. Simple, but deep gameplay. I played the heck out of this till my internet connection became too unusable. Can be fiercely competitive.

Spelunky Classic, is free, there is an updated, paid version on Steam but the Classic is very good as well. Sort of a side-view platformer. Pretty difficult, and you will die a lot, but it will always be your fault ;)
