Is the cannon a sectional diorama?

I think it is to repel all borders no taller than 3 inches

That would include Gus

Yep.  I bought it on the internetwebs for maybe $30.  It's 1/17 scale, which is about 120mm.  The original kit (English Carronade by Mantua Models) recommends things like "scoring a planking pattern onto the deck piece" an idea which is anathema to my sensibilities.  As a result, I am stick-building the deck and am doing the same for the bulwark.
