Credit goes to a fellow over on the Elemental forums for alerting me to this.  I've had half an eye on this game for a while now, so I'm pretty excited to see how it turns out.

Between Warlock: Master of the Arcane, Fallen Enchantress, and now Masters of the Broken World (currently projected for an Autumn release), this could be a very good year for fantasy grand strategy games.

And of course, there are now rumors that perhaps Triumph Studios may have begun work on Age of Wonders 3....

edit:- in fact on that subject, i dont remember any discussion from 2011 about what was coming out this year - i have been totally taken by surprise at the quality and quantity of games so far, and in the months to come - im looking at this game scheduled for autumn, and i know the new Xcom game is an autumn release - all in all 2012 should go down as a fine vintage for gaming

Yeah, suddenly it's a great time to be a strategy gamer again, thankfully.

Masters of the Broken World looks very promising indeed.  Lovely artwork.  The setting sounds exactly the same as Stardock's Elemental: War of Magic, heh.

I can't remember now where I read it, but someone noticed that Triumph has quietly been hiring more people as of late, and apparently they've tweeted that they're going to be making an announcement soon.

Indeed.  Between all the space strategy and fantasy strategy games coming out, this could well be a banner year for the sub-genre(s).  Woot!

Well from what I've read so far, I wouldn't say it's the same setting.  However, the general concept (be a "good" ruler trying to mend the land, or be an "evil" ruler to bring it under your iron fist) is definitely similar.

Yeah that's pretty much what I meant.  I'm definitely keeping an eye on this one, it's full of promise.
