Agreed.  This is a really interesting idea (they had me at "no unit caps") but, despite having a high tolerance for low-fi graphics, this game looks disgusting.  I'm not going to click an RPS link - any idea whether the game is ready or not?  Perhaps the graphical style might change a bit...

I was just watching this trailer and almost lost my mind. As you guys say if they refine it, it's got potential.

I don't like the way they move, or pop in and out of existence. Or generally don't have any recognisable formation or structure to their movement.

AI War hits the lots of units goody bag now and then, and with some more structured formations (a bit like you can do in Dominions) then lets go for it. War on a truly massive scale. This just seems like an odd tech demo, with no basis in warfare whatsoever. Legions indeed.

Still I'm up for lo-fi no unit cap conflicts in theory.

There has to be some strategic component for me to even consider this. Otherwise, its really just a twitch puzzle game.  By strategic component, I mean building settlements, having the settlers worship you to generate your "God power", maybe a research component for more powers or troop types, etc.

My average day is definitely more twitch puzzle than anything resembling real strategery.
