Harebrained Schemes is pleased to announce their return to Kickstarter this Fall to partner with Backers in co-funding the creation of BATTLETECH. Jordan Weisman, the creator of BattleTech and MechWarrior, is back with the first turn-based BattleTech game for PC in over two decades. Steeped in the feudal political intrigue of the BattleTech universe, the game will feature an open-ended Mercenaries-style campaign that blends RPG 'Mech and MechWarrior management with modern turn-based tactics.

News this good deserves its own thread.

Seriously, take my money now.  I'm pledging BIG if this even remotely looks like what they're offering.

This has been something I've wanted since Crescent Hawk's Revenge.

Yes you're right, I did wonder at the time

I hear the game referenced a lot but I've never played it

Description sounds good.

Hopefully it has a good singleplayer story and campaign and not just a relaunch of "Mechwarrior Tactics" which was pretty laggy and boring until it died when IGP went out of business...

I've never funded a Kickstarter, but, if they need my money, I'm in!

I'm tentatively very excited about the possibilities, but I want to see some screen shots and more information about how they plan on implementing game mechanics.

Seeing the fantastic job they did with Shadowrun, I will most definitely be backing this.   O0

They're setting it in 3025 too. Good. No Clans or funky weapons/armour.
