Hi All,

I've added Desert War 1940-43 as an entry on FreeWargamer. It is a turn-based (free) World War II game simulating battles in North Africa during WWII.

Looks like a nice game for my netbook. Thanks!

The most shocking fact about war is that its victims and its instruments are individual human beings, and that these individual beings are condemned by the monstrous conventions of politics to murder or be murdered in quarrels not their own. Aldous Huxley

Looks like this one was picked up by Matrixgames and they are looking for beta testers.

Not sure how I missed responding to this thread months ago, but I agree it looks much like what Matrix is working on and I'm pretty sure that it is in fact the same game...my guess being that there will be additional scenarios/features in Matrix's release.

It's the same game. There is a Pacific scenario available from their website. I think they have taken down the free version obviously on anticipation of the matrix commercial release

It's now called Desert War 1940-42.

I'm beta testing it right now. I can't say much due to my NDA, but it will be interesting to see the difference between this game and TOAW IV.

Sir Slash

As opposed to, "Dessert War" which I am testing right now. I can't say much either because my mouth's full. Let us know what you can when you can Slick.  O0
