Airborne Rifles

This winter I was in Belgium for an academic conference on historical military cartography, and they had a display of interesting maps and map products from WWI and WWII. I thought this one was particularly interesting:

It was a game intended to help train British Bomber Command navigators in WWII. Basically you are given terrain features to locate yourself on the map, and the quicker you do it the quicker your plane advances to its bombing target. The game has dozens of printed scenarios for the player to try to self-locate.

Since I am interested in both cartography and gaming, this was fascinating. In fact, you can still purchase the game on amazon, for $100. Anyway, I thought it was a cool use of gaming for training purposes.
