But it's D&D.   They don't bother with head armor, greaves, gauntlets when it comes to AC details - one size fits all.  Going by that ruleset, the guy's whole body is covered in the same manner.   ;D  Unless it's the old Oriental Adventures mix & match ones.  :P

It adds a +5 to AC, but it also inflicts a -40% concentration check penalty to all spells.
