I've had it since the Kickstarter, but still waiting for it to truly complete.
It was "released" about a week ago, but since then massively patched all the time.

Very much reminded me of Homeworld but I'm hoping the UI is a bit friendlier in some areas. 

Also.. isn't it supposed to have a large randomized sandbox for longer-term play?

Does the sequel have the open world stuff originally planned to be in the first one?  Or is it a wash again?

It seems to be open world. Theres civilian places you can dock at, take missions and get ships

Not sure I can get used to space being nothing but blue. What an odd design decision.
