Wastelands has "decided to launch Early Access on September 11th. We've prepared a video to announce that fact. You can take a look at it here:"

Quote from: Wastelands InteractiveSo, what's Early Access going to include? I'll tell you! You'll have access to:

Six Pre-made Sorcerer Lords (or customize one from scratch)
Four Playable Races ( High Men, Grey Elves, Draconians, and the Unhallowed)
Three Planes of Existence (Prime Material, Air, and Shadow)
    Two-hundred Spells
A limited number of roaming creatures
    The artifact crafting system

We're also going to have most of the major game mechanics in place (heroes will follow shortly after early access). The game is beginning to feel the way it should and from Early Access on it's going to be about tweaking numbers and polishing things up. We'll be adjusting the pace and adding the ability to turn features on and off and a number of other things.

Another large portion of the "post Early Access" work is going to be dedicated to refining the AI. It's taking shape day by day, but as you can imagine, it's a fairly large task. We want WoM to include and AI that's both challenging and fun to play against. That's a tall order for a game this complex, but we're doing our best and intend to keep working on it until we get it right!

Enjoy!

Good news!!

I have so far passed up on AoW3 because my multiplayer partner is hesitant to get a game so heavily invested in combat while the other aspects of the game are weak. My hope is that Wasteland sticks to MoM formula and we can finally get a game we can sink our teeth into. It really looks like it is coming together nicely.

Greybriar, are you a Kickstarter backer as well?  I just got the email updates (including the link to the new video) this morning.

In any case, it's still looking good to me.  Between this, Fallen Enchantress, AoW3, and Sovereignty, I'd say my fantasy-strategy gaming needs will have been more than met for the foreseeable future.  :)

Yes, Martok, I am a Worlds of Magic Kickstarter backer. As a matter of fact, I backed both Worlds of Magic Kickstarters.  :)

I am also a backer....looking forward to finally play it.

Hope I'm proved wrong but as this is a Wasteland game I hope they finish it before moving onto their next game.

I'm definitely holding off until after release to await positive reviews / posts before even thinking about buying.
