I knew about all the Clara Oswalds everywhere, I just didn't remember until googling just now that the Asylum Dalek in question was actually a transplanted Human mind. I thought it was just a delusional machine since it used a different name, Oswin. That's why I wondered if there was a connection with the recent interface between the now Clara and the 'Good' Dalek.

The final episode of the current series is in two parts, and we have just watched the first part. I have to say that Peter Capaldi has turned out to be an excellent choice for the Doctor, but Jenna has just got better and better as the series has gone on.

200% agree.  To bad shes going to be replaced.
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

FWIW I don't see another Donna on the horizon.  not with this Doctor.
its been an excellent season overall I think.

That will never happen, a fact which will become obvious when you see the first half of the last episode!

IMO Clara was stealing the show from Matt Smith. Not that he was bad, just that all eyes were on her. Capaldi has the gravitas to be a strong Doctor beside her. This series feels far more like they are in a partnership than in the past. It always used to be the Doctor hero with the supportive sidekick. Even the jungle girl with Tim Baker had the Doctor knowing what to do to save the day. It was always the brains of the timelord instead of the traditional fighting hero.

How exactly do they get rid of such a strong character that they have presented as being with him all through time? They can't bump her off. There is still a risk she steals the show, which makes the Doctor un-necessary, therefore has the potential to kill the series.

my take on that theory is that your partially right but for the wrong reasons.  Smiths Doctor had the wind taken out of his sails when the Ponds were taken away.  he played this emotional hit pretty well.  its Claras character and enthusiasm that was dragging the Doctor back into his normal state.  thats why it felt that she was overpowering him in the show.

That would be a good theory if he was human. Supposedly he has ended alien races. It's tough to be squishy after that. If you look into the abyss, the abyss looks into you.

I did indeed. However, I though I would insert an oblique spoiler reference, so.... >:D >:D

On an almost completely unrelated topic: my birthday present for myself this year arrived today, namely the (North American version of) the collected Blu-Ray 1080p sets for series 1-7 of nuWho.

This is all very well and whatever, but it comes with some tchotchkes I couldn't give less of a hoot about and wished I didn't have to pay for: three collectors cards of Doctors 9-11 (yawn), a collector's comic (also yawn), a Blu of three fairly brief promotional videos one of which is on another blu of the set anyway (ditto yawn)...

...and a fairly solid universal remote control forged in the shape of the (current series) sonic screwdriver.

I can't imagine anyone but the die-hardest fans wanting the other mehs; but someone might feasibly want that remote control -- and I don't care for it.

So, I'd like to give it a good home. I'll probably put it up on ebay, but in case any Grogs here wanted to make some preliminary bids on it I thought I'd give y'all a shot first. :)
