Well I can't speak for others why we came here, but:

1/. The women are better over here
2/. The jack booted forum police here use softer clubs
3/. Too much ACG-like over there
4/. All my cool friends are here

5/. ... Gussy's sister stalks anyone over at WG'r

all the gay talk and drama combined with unsolved software problems made the old place a little too much for me. especially the religion & politics part became a nuisance.

Well, to paraphrase some blokes:

"We drove our ships to new lands... found a Hall, We Sing and Cry... Valhalla we have come... !"

There are definitely some disagreeable elements over at WG, primarily some out of control knuckleheads who never get
more than a slap on the wrist when the going gets creepy/stalky and the forum software is just rude. I still visit there to
keep up on a few things such as Ron Dockal's games but it's more like surfing for washing machine repair tips than for
any sense of camaraderie.

Too much Politics and Religion outside Politics and Religion. I like that we have an open forum to get crap off your chest if you want but we treat it like a back room without a lock. Current Events over there got got to be a bully pulpit for a notorious few.

Wargamer was great until they started messing with the forum software.  First the hosted sites were discarded.  Then the old article links disappeared.  After that it was a new bug every few days.

The people I enjoyed interacting with are here. The people I found annoying aren't.

I also get the idea that the guys running this show actually give a crap about how this community develops, something I definitely can't say about those behind the Wargamer. Why waste time visiting an after thought?

I also find this odd. This person/people couldn't come find out for themselves?

We're hoping this place continues to grow.

The best way for it to grow is for you guys to spread the word.

I can't speak to how things are run over at WG these days. Keep in mind that I haven't worked there in over 18 months. If folks show up here and behave badly, I will take care of them. They'll either learn to get along or I'll escort them to the door.

I don't know why the PM system isn't working there. But if you have friends there who haven't shown up here yet, let them know where you are hanging these days :)

Inevitably as we grow *somebody* will eventually show up and try to cause a problem. If you see something objectionable or something inappropriate - let me know. I don't read every post and even of the posts I read I don't always read them the same way someone else does. Let's not let the potential of a bad egg stop us from growing into a larger community.

It's okay. I appear to have found out what happened to religion and politics.

Apparently you can now say anything you want there as long as you don't swear or say anything that someone mightn't want you to say.

A bit of dress wearing appears to be the go.
