Sorry if it was already mentioned somewhere, but there is a very good book about him - he served as a platoon leader and was with 7th Cav. under Col Hal Moore at X-Ray. Also mentioned in the book 'We Were Soldiers Once, and Young'.

Must have been an amazing bloke.
