Title: Secret Weapons of the Third Reich
Post by: calvinus on February 23, 2015, 12:14:50 PM
Hello,

this is my first post and I'd like to introduce myself and my recent game project.
I'm the designer of Democracy under Siege (https://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/90568/democracy-under-siege) and the artist of Rick Heli's Founding Fathers (https://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/35423/founding-fathers).

My recent game is Secret Weapons of the Third Reich...

(https://sites.google.com/site/calvinuslab/_/rsrc/1415097298463/secret-weapons-of-the-third-reich/SecretWeaponsOfTheThirdReich_large.jpg) (https://sites.google.com/site/calvinuslab/secret-weapons-of-the-third-reich)

It's a semi-cooperative, semi-competitive worker placement strategy game for up to four players, playable also in solitaire, crafted for all fans of science fiction, alternate history and weird stories.

The game is in advanced stage of play-testing. I will finalize all game graphics and rules book in a few months. Then, I will publish the game on TheGameCrafter, as done for Founding Fathers.

This is the BGG page: https://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/168792/secret-weapons-third-reich (https://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/168792/secret-weapons-third-reich)

Best regards,
Luca.

Interesting concept.  I am curious as to how the solo game is played?  Is it score driven or is there an AI opponent?

Cheers,
PE

You're welcome. Latest version of rules can be downloaded in game's page:
https://sites.google.com/site/calvinuslab/secret-weapons-of-the-third-reich (https://sites.google.com/site/calvinuslab/secret-weapons-of-the-third-reich)

Rules are being proof-read, so they are still a work-in-progress.

Solitaire play rules are a mix (score driven / AI): player wins if the "Leading Faction" (if in play) is ahead on VP Track when the game ends. When the "Leading Faction" is put out of play (this happens when the player successfully performs a German Counteroffensive), the player wins if the Weapon Production goal has been fulfilled (that means he successfully produced a critical mass of secret weapons), or when he succeeds to a assemble a giant orbital solar gun to strike New York...  :uglystupid2:  There's also the possibily of a "Turncoat" end game victory (the player secretly works for the enemy).

For the rest the solitaire rules provide some AI procedures to let the player perform key choices during the game. He will manage to get the "Leading Faction" actually assigned to the VP leading faction in the proper time, beware unforseenable outcomes are always behind the corner.

Hello,

the play-testing of Secret Weapons of the Third Reich game is now close to its completion.

I've recently published in the website the very latest version 0.9.9A of the rules booklet and vassal module.
I added some key changes to the Turncoat entry and victory conditions, and in a few event cards and player actions, with the purpose of making the game more balanced and challenging.

I still need a few play-testing session and then I will make the game purchasable on TheGameCrafter (https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/secret-weapons-of-the-third-reich).

Stay tuned.

Has to be very satisfying to open the final product that went from a concept to a tangible product in your hand.  Congrats and success.

Absolutely true, many thanks.

Also, the tangible quality of the final product (game-board, cards, rules book...) is considerably better than my expectations!  8)
