I didn't go. I was afraid the Manson Family would be there to see it.

I watched this one from DVR over the last several nights and I liked it but damned if I figure-out what it's about? Just a long bunch of Hollywood stuff from the 60's which is great, especially the old cars  :dreamer: But the story just meanders along not really going anywhere and then ends. Pitt and Di Caprio are great together, there's lots of dry humor, and for Tarantino.... almost no violence until the very end.  :o  I enjoyed watching it as a mindless trip down Memory Lane of all the TV shows and movies I watched as a kid. But don't ask me what it was about.  :idiot2:

yeah it does harken back to Tarantino's early works (Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction).

That said I see almost more like From Dusk to Dawn with the extremely abrupt shift in tone. The majority of the movie is detailing the downward spiral of a former Hollywood star trying to remain relevant and then taking the hard left turn at the end.

Or maybe Tarantino just wanted to make a movie that had the two leads (who are arguably two of the biggest stars of the last 20 yrs) interacting with each other as much as possible.
Insert witty comment here.

The whole point of the meandering movie is not so much the story but of the relationship between Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) and Rick f'ing Dalton (Dicaprio).  Then how it all ties together in the end is brilliant!

Is it available for streaming for free (or a reasonable low price) yet?  I've been interested in checking this out but never made it while it was in theaters.
A War of a Madman's Making - a text-based war planning and political survival RPG

It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge.  War endures.  As well ask men what they think of stone.  War was always here.  Before man was, war waited for him.  The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.  That is the way it was and will be.  That way and not some other way.

If they made nothing but WWII games, I'd be perfectly content.  Hypothetical matchups from alternate history 1980s, asymmetrical US-bashes-some-3rd world guerillas, or minor wars between Upper Bumblescum and outer Kaboomistan hold no appeal for me.

I guess it's sort of nice that the word "tactical" seems to refer to some kind of seriousness during your moments of mental clarity.

I have Fios (Verizon) and it has been available for a while. Not sure of the price.
