What would a Ramrod of mid 1942 have been like?

KG26 has 109f4s and FW190A2s.  The RAF has Spitfire Vbs and Boston light bombers.  KG26 has decided to just hit the top cover and then escape, hoping that the flak will disrupt the bombers.  The RAF has put most of its fighters fairly low and close to the bombers.  Maybe this will be a bad day for the RAF:

So by turn 5 one big dogfight developed.  Each side has lost one fighter, but KG26 should probably break and run before 4 more spitfires get into the fight.  I've shown the dogfight boxes (Able Baker Charlie and the mysterious blank dogfight markers on Bloody April)  you can also see what seems to be lighting down in the rain under the dense clouds.

Wow!  Turns 5- 11 resulted in a German victory in points.  They got two bombers (= 8) and 2 fighters (=2) = 10 while only losing 1 FW190A2 and 3 109F4s!  The bombers did no damage.

So there you go.  A vaguely historical result thanks to some degree to breaking and diving away from the dogfight into a thunderstorm.
