Over $49,000 has been raised. Nine of the 10 stretch goals are now included. Need to hit $55,000 to release the next one.  The content you get for the stretch goals is over $200, plus the base game. More than worth the $70 I pledged.

Just a tad over $3.000 to go until the next stretch goal, a two-map set of Czechoslovakian border with Czechoslovakian and W-German formations added. Four scenarios. Retail value another $35.

There's a new developer post (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lnlp/storming-the-gap-world-at-war-85/posts/2413909) about creation of Fulda Gap modules.

They look just plain awesome. So many city hexes, roads galore, will be brutal to play, with infantry no doubt having a bigger role than what they have / had on more traditional map boards. Just a snippet, but oh boy it looks fantastic:

Would need some $3K a day to get it, let's do this!  :bd:

When it says "Ships to - Anywhere in the World", how much does it cost? I really want to back this, but I'd hate to back it and get to a page where it says postage is £50!!

Scroll to the bottom of the main KS page, it will tell you. UK is $20 plus $10 for all additional games, so $30 max depending on what you pledge.

So this kickstarter entitles backers to receive 2 expansions over time. But I also read about a 'reboot' of the WaW franchise when the kickstarter first went up. Does this mean there will be additional kickstarters coming up for other games in the system or is Storming the Gap the Core game and should we expect kickstarters for additional expansions instead?

This a reboot of the entire system. So the major titles will be complete stand alone games. There maybe expansions to individual stand alone games but David has promised to never again have multiple game requirements for expansions.

Not sure if all the titles will get KS treatment but judging by the success of this one I don't see why not.

Storming the Gap (Fulda Gap) and Blood and Bridges (North German plains) are likely the two boxes I'd like to get covering NATO in Europe.

Then, When the Lion Roars for Arab Israeli Wars, because of course  :knuppel2:

And that said, I will not buy any other boxes, and that's it. Or maybe just the Red Lighting as it's set in Nordics. And Strike Force Africa looks intriguing... As does Red Dragon Rises...  :hide:

Oh I wish this would work. Or, that when you'd go to a gaming session, you'd ask which game to take with you, and she'd replay, actually. After which you'd take the exact opposite, perhaps rolling your eyes at her.

Or perhaps there is... ? :)

How will the cat crossing the path outside affect dice rolls? Is there a rule for that? I mean, he's grey, not black, but still...

It depends. Was the cat by him/herself, or was she/he riding a M1150 Assault Breacher Vehicle? There's a huge difference, you know.

Box was delivered a few days ago. Didn't have time to open it due to work at first, but once opened I was filled with joy to see the huge amount of content and quality of materials!
That's a whole lot of gaming for a small price!  \m/

I've played 3 games now solo with the SA and it's great fun. Letting it do it's thing is the most important thing, I've seen a few videos and AARs where people override it nearly every turn when it didn't do something they thought was wrong or didn't make sense.

I had one instance where the SA had manoeuvred it's units into assault range and I was all ready for it to do so next activation. It's next card draw had the units stay in place and fire instead and I almost overrode it as it needed to capture those positions for victory but thought I'd play it out and see what happens. It ended up decimating my units with point blank fire and was able to pretty much walk in to my positions next activation. It was pretty impressive and showed me to leave it alone except for the really dumb moves.

Good to know.  Will have to stick to the cards when I run the solo set.   O0

I an busy learning the rules as well. Its a little slow going cause I keep getting distracted by family stuff, but I have no rush.
I also have the solo system, but I'll start using that once I have a proper grasp of the rules.
The production quality is top notch! All materials look and feel great and the graphics of the counters and maps is awesome. Very happy with it.

There also seems to be quite some activity on VASSAL !

Great fun. Fast playing. Scenarios are tight and make you think and are a good variety.
Both sides play very differently and you have to take that into account.
Looks great on the table too.

Unfortunately not. I am not much of a VASSAL player, and with how everything is going on with covid19, haven't been to the local wargaming club not once since February iirc  :(

I have the kickstarter deal, with the solo assistant, but haven't really got started with it either. I really should. So for now I have been mostly admiring the art, and played the starter scenario for both sides for a three, four times.

A pity. I am all ready for the Blood and Bridges kickstarted, mind. Surely this self isolation will end one day.

Exactly my situation. I have even contemplated selling my KS set, but its just too good of a deal and just too beautiful a game to get rid off.

Have you tried VASSAL, at all? Would be fun to try it, maybe. If interested maybe we could try it out some time?

Are you from the land of XXI? That's a gorgeous avatar you have there by the way! I am from Finland, so a one hour time difference only.

I am familiar with VASSAL, just not with the WaW85 module for it yet. But I am happy to try setting up PBEM.

I hail from 'Fokker land' yes! Thanks!
Finland is nice! I've flown there several times. I just love the way aircraft icing is handled in Finland. Obviously these harsh winter conditions are something you deal with regularly, but not so for us.
Whatever you guys say, we usually go with!

Sorry, I missed your new post. Yes, how about this Sunday at say noon(ish) or thereabouts, your time? I am one hour ahead of you.

You have my email in the PM, so let us agree a time there. Work happened, so I have not set up yet on VASSAL, but this gives me tomorrow to get everything set up, and the rules another read.
