What was the last thing you preordered or Kickstarted, and why?
Some RPG something-or-another. Either K. Crawford's / SineNomine offering or Pinnacle's Weird War One, I think.
Can we post pc games?
Iron Harvest 1920 because it has mechs, alternate history, and steampunk aesthetics.
Skull Tales Full Sails, because, pirates. (https://www.grogheads.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aarcentral.com%2Femoti%2Fpirate.gif&hash=0169c10cb3f8ab36bf55a13a2d011fa205ca976c)

you took the plunge, huh?
I can soooooooo close, but couldn't do it b/c I just didn't think it would get enough play
IIRC The Iron Harvest game and the new Scythe PC game are both based on boardgame precursors, so I will take that as my slant 😎
Got 4 board games on pre-order via Kickstarter. Brass: Birmingham and Brass: Lancashire should be here within a few weeks. Warfighter: WWII Pacific is slated for August so I expect it in October. U-BOAT is the one I'm most excited for. That's out in December hopefully.
I also pre-ordered this book from Osprey. Should be here next week. Hitlerjugend Soldier vs Canadian Soldier: Normandy 1944
OST Ghost Front on pre-order.... because I have all the rest so why not more.... and it's a fun game.
Seal Team Flix on pre-order.... because it looks cool and seems moderately groggy.
U-Boat Kickstarter.... because it looks really cool... and U-Boats! and comes with a 3 ft 3D U-Boat!

Cyrano may disabuse you of that notion ;)

He hasn't even
played it yet.... complains about a long rule book... amateur... ::)
Skies Above the Reich preorder. Saw some good AAR's at the Qt3 forums and good comments at BGG.
Dan Verssen's War of the Worlds, UK front.
Because? ... War of the Worlds, eh?
GMT's Stalingrad '42 by Mark Simonitch.
I like Holland '44 and think the rest of the "series" (it's not really a series, and the rules change in between games but are roughly comparable) is nice as well. I'm supporting the new editions of a number of them through the P500 program. Coming from a digital wargaming background, they're also more easy to get into than some of the more abstract releases that are popular lately.
There are some other games that I'm interested in as well, but that will have to wait until more financial means are available as GMT releases are nearly always at least a year away from the point they're on P500 whereas a company Compass Games has a much shorter pre-order/completion cycle.
Thankfully, if all goes well I'll join the Stalingrad '42 test team next month so the wait before I can play that will hopefully be short.
Mantic Games Vanguard on Kickstarter. Well because the group I play with enjoy Kings of War.
Normandy The Beginning of the End, looks really good, should start shipping in early autumn :smitten:
On another note, LnL's World at War'85 remake of the classic platoon scale games is nearing a Kickstarter, I'll probably go all in. O:-)
From their newsletter:
QuoteWorld at War 85 has been undergoing a major update for some time, but the wait is nearly over!
The World at War 85 series is an eight-volume set of fast and furious platoon-level games set in a hypothetical 1985, where the Warsaw Pact makes good on its threat to storm across the East German border in a bid to seize the whole of free Europe and the world.
The World at War 85 series features a unique combat system which uses opposed die rolls to resolve combat, keeping both players constantly engaged throughout all of the fast-paced action. Die rolls are compared and hits are applied quickly since all of the information needed is right on the counters. No combat results table is necessary. Initiative, formation activation, random turn length, and air assets are all integrated smoothly.
The first two games in this eight-volume series are nearing completion and a special Kickstarter is in the works. More information will be forthcoming in our August newsletter.
Down In Flames: Locked On (DVG Kickstarter) - Because 1) I'm a sucker for anything "modern air combat", and 2) It has a solitaire option, so will get far more use.
I had (perhaps) more recently pre-ordered GMT's Skies Above The Reich but it's P500 was going to be shipping almost exactly when I was moving, so I nixed the order and will have to grab it in retail sometime. :-\
So many temptations, I had to start limiting my perusal. :))

QFFT!
Hrmm.. now that I checked, my last P500 was Nevsky.

Ended up seeing more that I wanted to pre-order. It's a trap! :hide:
Thinking hard about backing this one on Kickstarter even though I know it'll get very limited play.

I've backed the Kickstarter for DVG Corsair Leader, first time I've backed a boardgame. Sole reason being I own several DVG games so I knew that it would be a Kickstarter that would deliver. Got burnt on quite a few kickstarter PC games that never made the light of day.
