The Marines don't usually maneuver tanks in a platoon as a group.  They often slice out the tanks to directly support other folks, like sending a tank with an infantry platoon as the muscle to support them.  Generally, if there's a fight that requires formations of tanks, it's beyond what we'd send a MEU after anyway.
