knowing your turret firing arcs, fragging up the hacking vessels first, launching vipers first turn post jump and focusing fire seem to be keeping me alive
My doctor wrote me a prescription for daily sex.

My wife insists that it says dyslexia but what does she know.

I'm about ten missions in.  So far it's OK but just OK.   There just isn't enough depth to the tactical combat engine IMO.  It's already starting to feel a little stale.  Basically, launch fighters as soon as the mission starts.  Aim your ships and their ships and fire missiles.  Hold a few back in case a scripted event triggers.  Rinse and repeat.

I find the biggest threat to my ships comes from collisions with hacking second and enemy fire not seeming very threatening at all unless you're hugely outnumbered.  Not really digging the progression either.  You can get officers and select abilities from a skill tree as they gain experience but I'm finding that taking anything other than the ones that let you field a larger fleet is a waste.

I'm still grappling with what it is that I like and do not like about it, so its hard for me to be really specific. Sorry... :-[

let me help.

Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

I think if the AI was a little better things would be really tense.
I love the game and find it relaxing and the engine to have everything I need, XYZ and top as well as side armour etc. It's deeper than anything else in the genre that's note the un-gratifying turn based combat.

That's a mighty fine looking toaster.

Mainly to the ideal game in my mind that I'd like to play but also to these board and PC games:

Star Wars: Armada
Star Fleet Battles/Federation Commander
NEXUS: The Jupiter Incident
Sword of the Stars II
Sails of Glory
Heart of Oak/Privateers & Gentlemen
Flotilla

And others whos names aren't popping into my head right now.  None are perfet but they've all got elements I'd like to see in a game I'd want to play.

Destraex

Not really fair to compare it to your perfect game. But I certainly know where you are coming from.
