Grogheads looks decidedly plain in my bookmarks folder, alongside all the other websites with their shining little favicons. I demand that you make one! Immediately, if not sooner!
If you'll observe the sticky just above this thread you'll find that I have posted my own collection of them on Photobucket for your copy & pasting pleasure. ;)
We'll eventually do that, but we're working on the technical aspects of having a dev box for the forums - you know, just so we don't break anything on the live site.

Strike that. I see. You mean a web icon or whatever.
OK, I'll send fluffy over to administer more beatings to the code monkey.

That sounds kinky... just saying
Yes. There must be spankings until satisfaction is achieved. My thanks to you, sir.

Haha, I knew what that would be before I even clicked! :)
Just so you don't think we're complete plonkers. I worked on this over the weekend and they all looked like crap.
I'll continue to tweak until we get something that doesn't look like crap.
Heh, I was thinking about this recently and thought you'd forgotten. Thanks for the update! :)
I had a crack at it. Can't attach .ico files here - can I email it somewhere?
send it to me. PM me for email info. Thanks!
So, you've got time to make a spinny avatar thing but no time for a favicon huh? I see!
:'(
stole the avatar from somewhere else
The problem with the favicon is that it's not loading properly into the site header and keeps throwing up snippets of HTML at the top of the page. It does this no matter what favicon I use. Methinks it's a troubleshooting problem for people that actually know what they're doing.

Muahaha!
I like the avatar too, Windigo!

Thanks Huw!
I take the 1 000 000 monkeys approach to avatars, I switch avatars up almost as often as Star switches hands.
Yeah, but I don't think we ever got the favicon to work, did we?

I can see it on the front end of the site - http://grogheads.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/favicon-1.ico
It shows up in the browser tab. Not in the bookmarks though. These things can be a PITA to get to display properly.
+1
I see it on the <start encryption>home page</end encryption>. Don't see it on the forums.

WE HAVE A HOME PAGE?!?! WHAT IS THIS SORCERY?!
I did a little research on this and the favicon on the front end is working correctly - http://grogheads.com. If you are not seeing it in your bookmarks, you may have to delete the bookmark and then re-bookmark the site.
There is no favicon for the forums that I am aware of (didn't see anything in the page source). The forums and the rest of the site are two completely different platforms. I have no idea what the forum software allows for favicons.
That's OK, I think I've just found a favicon customiser addon for Firefox, so I'll grab one of bbmike's and use it for the forum. :)

Here you go. (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bookmarks-favicon-images/)
It's a little idiosyncratic but it works fine. There's a gallery of stock images to use as favicons. If you want to use a custom icon, you have to click the addon's icon in the Firefox menu, then "open user images folder in profile", then dump your custom icons in there. Then after restarting Firefox you can again click the addon's icon and select "set bookmarks favicon images" followed by the bookmark you want to edit, then finally select your image.
bbmike's favicons are in this thread (http://grogheads.com/forums/index.php?topic=16321.0).
