So in case y'all missed it, the Canadian men lost in the hockey semifinal.

no i didnt missed that  :D
even so i am not interested in icehockey at all
(reason: i just don't see the puck, or who has the puck when i try to watch it on TV .... well i never tried with the projector so)

the match will start at 5:10am on Sunday morn

btw: we have the gold medal already whatever the out come of that match will be  ^-^ just take some time, in 1 or 2 years the anti-doping labs will have the prove that some Russian players where doped at that match with a method that is very hard to validate today.
but anti-doping lab science progress fast and the samples are stored >:D
was the Doc with the rank of Commander pushing medical science papers at his workplace the past weeks,
or did he worked inside a level 2 or higher biohazard lab, or was on travel in 'shithole countries' for collecting samples and evaluation ? ???

^^There are now some reports that there were FOUR deputies who wouldn't go in.

I can somewhat understand one, since a cop is typically not going to be trained to just wade in to a situation on his own that he doesn't know the extent of. But FOUR? If that's true, it's utterly indefensible.

depends on the SOP ordered?

a decade or more ago German police changed SOP after a school shooting, IIRC it was the Erfurt event
before generic patrol car cops first at the scene had order to wait for specialist cops  (doesn't had to be full blown SWAT unit but cops with a special training and a certain number of those before going in)
Now the SOP is: the first patrol car cops (usually 2 officers) at the scene go in immediately and 'aggressive'
...even so those cops only get a 30 hours of special training (including hand to hand) with evaluation a year, included are only 6h on the shooting range (of course a high tech range police shooting cinema with situations unfolding)
in Germany Police is a federal state thing, so numbers may wary a bit from state to state

It wasn't really correct for me to post "Sounds like a game breaker to me. I  won't bother playing Stellaris until that is changed." I was thinking of space 4X games in general. I tried playing Stellaris last year, didn't care for it then, and haven't played it since. I was waiting for the game to be patched until it was something I would like to play. But it hasn't been and I simply do not like Stellaris.

Carry on and I won't intrude in this thread again until I have actually played this game again (which I doubt very much that I ever will).

P.S. Read my sig. ;)

Four deputies? Haven't heard that yet.

There was a lot of info on Cruz that both the local sheriff and the FBI had as well as social services and the people charged with taking care of him.

How he was ever able to acquire firearms is beyond me.

Yeah, that's the problem part.
