It's awfully quiet in here. I thought this game would make the community buzz.

That's bad there's no fix for your issue GR...makes me wonder if I should get it - especially given I've already got issues with one of their games.

yep i am disappointed but so far only a few of us reported.....so you certainly could be good.

It has been a while, but I've started documenting my AAR for TOAWIV. No wonder I couldn't get on with TOAWIII very well, I didn't understand the fundamentals of its time based rounds per turn. I'm trying to now, looking at WWI battle Cambrai, since its on its centenary this week.

With this patch, my zooming seems improved, although still a little jittery on the mouse clicks.....we'll see if it lasts but hopefully promising

Combat Planner so much better too.

Question for you WW1 fans. Compared to all the other WW1 games, how does TOAW do in the WW1 scenarios? Do you guys find the 1914 scenarios in particular to be realistic?

I played the heck out of the West Front 1914 scenarios in both TOAW III and the Strat Command: Breakthrough games.  I actually found the TOAW more enjoyable and more how I would expect it to play out.

good stuff. lots of info to digest! are the maps topographical? you mentioned bourlon being important because it was high ground but is there any way for me to know that unless ive been there? is elevation represented in the combat, movement etc?? im sure there are some scenarios involving mountain combat or plains. hopefully those things are taken into consideration. thanks and look forward to turn 2!

spelk

I'm not sure about the maps being topographical, I got the high ground information from the Cambrai video in the Setup. Historically they never made it up to Bourlon. I've searched the manual for "Elevation" or "Height" and they're not mentioned in any context about the games maps.

Sir Slash

A damned fine AAR Spelk. And, I might add, masterful planning.  O0
