Title: Warhammer: Vermintide
Post by: Silent Disapproval Robot on March 10, 2017, 11:37:45 PM
So, I picked this one up along with a few other titles from the HumbleBundle sale for $6.50.  Very fun game.  It's basically Left 4 Dead 2 set in the Warhammer fantasy universe but the player characters available in-game offer up a lot more variety than those found in Left 4 Dead.  I've only played as the Witch Hunter and the Mercenary so far but they were both a lot of fun.  There's something very satisfying about doing a big wind up and swing with the Merc's Warhammer and knocking over a half dozen Skaven.

Pick up a copy!  Let's play!

This is something I probably would've got into for some mindless ultra-violence.  At least for awhile.

But it looks like one of those made-for-console ports that always give me motion sickness due to the 3D view's placement and FOV.   :(

Been very wary of purchasing first-person games due to that.  Sucks.

You can adjust FOV with a slider in the options menu.

It's usually not just an FOV problem, but an issue with the viewpoint too.

Often seems like you're three feet tall and doing 50mph when running around.  Gives me a splitting headache & nausea.  :buck2:  Only in many first-person games, usually with a console crossover.  I don't get this crippling motion sickness in flight sims, for instance, even when throwing my TrackIR view around a lot.  Probably to do with how the ground, and it's motion, is displayed in most FPS games nowadays.
