Rough start to the series for you MD. I was at an Irish pub last night so caught some of the game. Sabathia looked brutal.
Still no gaming from me but looking to continue learning Endless Space 2 and also pull the wrapping paper off of Star Traders Frontiers next week.
I'll pretend I saw no mention of tha Yankees...like Met fans have been doing.
Obligatory vacation with The Family this week to beautiful, festive Cape May NJ...so no gaming for the most part.
Once I return (if I return) I will finish Dishonored:Death of the Outsider and then begin Vietnam '65.
Enjoy your weekend!
3:30 today will be the start of 2 weeks of vacation! :D
During that time:
The garage walls will finally be finished and painted.
Rust spots on my Tucson need to be fixed up.
General yard work.
Many hours around and in pool with beer. 8)
Started playing No Man's Sky after latest patch. Nice relaxing game to play just wandering about the galaxy.
Still thinking of getting TOAW IV... because this time I'll understand it right?... Right?
New Kriegspiel is in full swing so will be doing that too.
Still have Seal Team Flix on the table. Seriously fun game. Not as simple as it first appears. Without proper planning your missions can go sideways fast. Might write a review for this while on vacation.

I'm with ya, MD, as a lifelong Yankees fan who has the ironic fate of living in Boston for the past 20 yrs... I assume you saw last night's debacle, however. :(
Intrigued by
Star Traders: Frontiers, which is on sale on Steam for a mere $12. Picked it up and looking forward to giving it a go.
Gus and Barthheart, enjoy your vacations! I've been drawn back into 7 Days to Die and will explore the (new for me) Alpha 16 build. On the table, I plan on trying to learn Star Trek Frontiers again.
Thank you bb.
And sandman...stay strong behind enemy lines. Always remember you are not alone.
I should check in on 7DtD occasionally.
Usual plan continues:
Crisis Grogs mp of Falling Sky as I consolidate defense of the Belgian homeland.
Screaming like a little Nazi girl and running away from Shelldrake in the Strategic Command Classic Grogfest competition.
Prepping for THE GROGPUBLIC OF ROME has taken some giant steps forward: all the cards are now in the game, and I'll probably just keep most of the current chips since those should be easily re-produceable if the imgurs somehow go away. (The 20 legions and fleets might be a problem, since I don't have good scans for those yet, nor the veteran allegiance chips, but for the same reason they're going to be hard for me to directly recreate. But they won't be hard to haxor up effective substitutes if I have to.)
So I don't lack much, if anything, opening up a call for players, but I'm planning to wait a couple more weeks before doing so.

Hey thanks, man. There have been times -- mostly circa 2003-2007 -- when I wouldn't wear my Yanks cap out in public : )
In seriousness though, it's awesome that The Rivalry is alive again. The Yanks have been so boring for so long, and the Red Sox so complacent after winning 3 WS, that it's actually exciting to see the two teams with great young players go head-to-head again. It's not quite the legendary ARod vs. Varitek brawl level of animosity yet, but it may be getting there.
Have fun in Cape May -- I know it well -- my fam used to vacation in Stone Harbor when I was a kid. Great places.

It truly is a small world...Stone Harbor was our family place to visit for a summer day on the beach. And Cape May, Ocean City and Wildwood too.
Gonna play either The Expanse or Brass: Birmingham tomorrow evening with some gaming buddies. Other than that, it's work, work, and more work.
Barth. Holidays? That sounds like a call for Lock 'N Load.

Well hopefully he's not a Giants fan! Where are you in Boston Sandman?
Board game action..running a Gloomhaven campaign for four other folks.
When not doing that, I will play my new addiction, Parkitect. Hella fun.
Battletech will get some PT, need to upgrade my lance....third attempt at a campaign, got about 2/3rds the way through with the last one.
My plan had been Star Traders Frontiers and Civ Beyond Earth Rising Tide with the Codex mod. Then the Endless Space 2 and Endless Legend updates and new DLC came out which I am now on the verge of buying have now just bought so there might have to be a plan B.
'Tis definitely a small world. It is my first time in Cape May so any recommendations are welcome.
One of my best friends moved to the Boston area after college and has settled down in the Arlington area, sandman. He is 6'5" and full of muscles and can offer you safe harbor from the BoSox rabble if needed.
And I agree on the NY-BOS rivalry revival - great stuff. I live for watching Joe Kelly fight all the Yankees. But I could do without the 15-7 pummelings.
BoSox are the real deal - scary good team this year.
💀beware💀
@Tuna -- I live in the PRC ... People's Republic of Cambridge. I'm a member in good standing with our local workers' soviet. ;)
@Gus -- if you're looking for things to do, the boardwalk at Wildwood -- Rayfer must know it! -- is fun, though it has been many years since I was there. Very close to Cape May. Otherwise I'd suggest just lounging on the nice beaches and seeing if you can spot famous New Jerseyans like Chris Christie or Bruce Springsteen. Or better yet, Chris Christie at a Springsteen concert.
The Sox this season.... man alive. They apparently average 15 runs a game at Fenway. Chris Sale seems like he's on pace to strike out 400 batters and finish the season with a 0.84 ERA. And J.D. Martinez is apparently the second coming of Mickey Mantle.
The Yanks have the second best record in MLB. And are *still* 6.5 games out. That's how freakishly good this Sox team is.

Ahh Weymouth here, South side of Baston!
Dangeroously good, indeed. They frighten me.
Wildwood is on The Wife's Agenda.

Would rather be playing *anything*... Got the girls at the Kidz Bop concert here in town tonight
Hopefully:
Sins of a Solar Empire. A mate has discovered the map making function and the game is always nice and relaxing with speed enough to play in one night with a smaller map.
War Thunder - Need to get my joystick working with it and possibly my track-IR
Total War Arena - To get the bonus in game stuff - just need one victory.
Maybe some steel division depending on who is online in discord.
I have never been able to get Sins of a Solar Empire to work on my current machine :(
...also just reinstalled Rise of Legends on my PC...haven't played that in a long time and never finished it.

This weekend -- probably some Post Scriptum, Britannia, BoX and DCS.
Long day, but back at the computer now. A quick screenshot of my finally-imported card piles. :smitten:

(Don't worry about what any of those mean right now. Just, about fifteen hours of eye-glazing work went into porting them. :hide: Glad to be done. <:-) )
I'll be 'Pirating' about the Deadfire Archipelago in Pillars 2 with a little CMBN thrown in for fun. Have a good weekend Grogs.
How do you like the new PoE compared to the old one?

:2funny:
PoE 2 Really kind of put me off at first. The choices are many more than in the first game right at Character Creation and the changes to combat are a little confusing but since then the game's grown on me and while I'm not sure I like it better than PoE 1, it'll do fine until something else comes along for my Hack & Slash Itch. Beast of Winter looks great too and is reasonably priced.

birthday present for Bayonette
turns out the mom of one of the performers went to high school with my wife and her sister back in California, and after the show we met up with them by the back gate, so my daughter and her friend got a private, impromptu meet-&-greet with one of the singers.
Slash - yeah the Beast of Winter dlc gives me very strong Icewind Dale vibes.
I thought the same thing when the White March dlc came out for PoE 1. And they were very similar in their settings, but I enjoyed both games so this is a good thing. BTW, I just got to name my first island in PoE 2's Deadfire Archipelago. Guess what I came up with?
Not original.
I'm saving the original stuff for the island full of beer and bikinis.
Me too!
Maybe the next island full of vicious pygmies and cheap loot I'll name..... No, I won't do that to you Bro.
Lashs? >:D
Gusadiso?
Gusapulco? <:-)
Gustralia
"Otisburg! ......Otisburg? ....OTISBURG?!"
Never give up hope: Otisburg is now a canonical area of Gotham City, at least in the Arkhamverse.

Springfield
Gusty Springfield?
SPRINGY FIELDGUS!! :D
(...I declare that to be a real thing, sooner or later.)
How about, "Moist Loins Island"? <:-)
No games for me during the last two weeks or so. My wife and I took a cruise to Alaska followed by some time in Denali.
Guswick.
Ahhhh, Alaska. Nice! How'd you like it Airboy?
