For about forever I have been waiting for an RPG set in a New York City of the past and now it looks like there may finally be one approaching release. The music is not so good and incongruous to the time period (1911) but Empyre appears to take place in a flooded NYC that has gone steampunk. Check it out:

Pillars of Broadway? Looks good but the music..... :hide:   Do you recognize any actual city scenery Gus?
"Take a look at that". Sgt. Wilkerson-- CMBN. His last words after spotting a German tank on the other side of a hedgerow.

^I actually looked but nothing appeared familiar. It would be beyond fantastic just to have a couple of 1900-era landmarks...it would be unfair to expect anything more, I think.

Any idea what the storyline is? Is it a faction based survival in a drowned city thing, or is it crime - a bit like Omerta? Certainly some of the screens in the trailer looked Omerta-ish.
The most shocking fact about war is that its victims and its instruments are individual human beings, and that these individual beings are condemned by the monstrous conventions of politics to murder or be murdered in quarrels not their own. Aldous Huxley

On a good day, our legislature has the prestige of a drunk urinating on a wall at 4am and getting most of it on his shoe. On a good day  ::) Steelgrave

It's kind of silly to investigate whether or not a Clinton is lying. That's sort of like investigating why the sky is blue. Banzai_Cat

It's an RPG - player leads a team to survive in an alternate reality 1910s New York City.

The game has been out for hours now on Steam ($30).
Has anyone here tried it already?
