Computer Wargaming / Re: Decisions Decisions

Finally got around to FOGII tonight, bought it a week or so ago. I liked it. I liked it better than Pike and Shot. Not sure why but I did.
Was a wee bit slow to scroll on my computer, didn't think it would be all that graphically intense but scrolling was sticky at times. Rotating was fine though.
Only played the first tutorial scenario but I enjoyed it. Reminded me a little of playing miniatures with DBA, something I spent many hours doing in the past.

I am interested in Strategic Command but some of the reviews worry me a bit. Stuff about scripted reactions that ignore the actual situation etc. Gonna have to go read the thread here about it before the sale is up lol.

Digital Gaming AARs / NEWBIE FOG2 AAR
« Last post by -budd- on Today at 12:29:39 AM »
Picked up FOG2 a few days ago, my first venture into wargaming with ancients. This is a well put together game, it's really easy to get up and running. The UI makes it easy to get around and there's helpful tool tips, all the info you need is available and once through the tutorials you'll be up and running. I've played the tutorials and one quick battle and i'm in battle 5 of a 5 battle campaign as the Romans. This AAR is from the 4th battle of the campaign. I'll finish this campaign, bump up the difficulty and play another short campaign and then get some PBEM going.

I think it was NZ that used one of the CM1 games.

It was CMAK and included some scenarios and equipment not available to the public, as I recall.

My hard drive crashed a month ago and I never bothered reinstalling any of my CM, even though I have the hard copies. DRM isn't a showstopper for me, but the slow grind of waiting for updates is. They still haven't fixed the water levels bug, which is a real disincentive to scenario design.

Yes, yes I did! I knew there was a Squad level game out there somewhere I'd like, and indeed so it was  :)

Nice! Glad you like it. Now you need the French module for it   ;)

Yes, I probably do, don't I  :nerd:

By this time I had gotten powders, used to apply them with the airbrush.

Nicely done by the Astros.  They were the best team in the regular season, have two legit aces at the front of the rotation and figure to give the Dodgers a run for their money.  And because they beat my guys, I will root for them to win it all.  Doesn't hurt to be a team that lost to the eventual Champs. ;)  Let's go Astros!

Music, TV, Movies / Decades Feeder Bracket - 1996 Championship

Had a sneaking suspicion it might come down to these two after the Round of 16 saw them through.  It pains me to have a 16 so close to the win.  It would be super embarrassing to me to have that happen.  But, it's a boss song and a great reminder of 1996 for me.  Another not surprise is seeing Natalie Merchant here.  I like the song very much.  Not more than some of the ones she beat to get here, but, that's why we vote for them.  Hope you enjoy deciding their fate.  Have at!
