In case anyone is like me and hasn't purchased Hearts of Iron IV yet, Steam is offering 60% off the Cadet Edition bringing the cost down to $16.00 U.S.

If you happen to own Crusader Kings II, Europa Universalis IV, and Stellaris on Steam, you can add the Cadet Edition of Hearts of Iron IV to your Steam library for $14.40 if you buy the Paradox Grand Strategy Collection.
Regardless of how good a PC game may be it will always have its detractors and no matter how bad a PC game may be it will always have its fans.

I bought the Colonel edition for 15 or 20 bucks 8 or 9 months ago. I think I picked up a deeply discounted DLC as well later on. I have not played and probably will not until the AI gets decent in a year or two. That is sadly what I expect from developers now. They have conditioned me to wait a year plus to buy and then only at very deep discount.

If they have got the AI to appropriately use defensive plans too this patch/dlc could be a game changer.

Other than that, so really nice looking steps forward in that vid.

All I'm seeing is one big blanc space (no video by Jomni).

Same here. I think it has something to do with the YouTube auto link thing on the forum.

The links appear if you go to quote the post. Here they are:

I've been following the dev diaries and there are some really nice new features coming. Not least of all Field Marshals controlling Army Groups, new general abilities, intelligent division naming, consolidating units, air supply, attaching air units to land groups and reworked events, Focus Trees and decisions.

I cannot see my vids when browsing in the phone. Ok on the PC. I thought I used the share links but maybe I'm wrong.

Interesting. I may have to look at this further.  Specs wise of course.

I have a co-worker who got an HP Omen machine, and he is interested in getting HOI IV. There's rumor of a Asian Theater DLC coming.

Already announced in one of my "invisible" videos. "Waking Tiger" Focus on China.

Love HOI IV I find it the best WWII grand strategic engine on the market. Variable real time that can be paused at any time or sloooowed down is great for old guys like me :)

so do the latest patches work on the base game?  I'm not interested in purchasing the DLC.

edit: OK, I gave you 1 1/2 hours to tell me before I couldn't wait any longer.  Just bought the base (cadet) version from GreenManGaming for $13.28 (17% off coupon from the 60% off sale price).  The HOI4 wiki's patch page implies the patches work with the base version.  I also saved $80 at the Matrix holiday sale combined with my anniversary coupon.  If I save any more money I may go broke.
