Kind of looking forward to this, but the IGN review is a little meh (due to lack of polish):

ICEBREAKER THESIS CHRONOLOGY! -- Victor Suvorov's Stalin Grand Strategy theory, in lots and lots of chronological order...
Dawn of Armageddon -- narrative AAR for Dawn of War: Soulstorm: Ultimate Apocalypse
Survive Harder! -- Two season narrative AAR, an Amazon Blood Bowl career.
PanzOrc Corpz Generals -- Fantasy Wars narrative AAR, half a combined campaign.
Khazâd du-bekâr! -- narrative dwarf AAR for LotR BfME2 RotWK campaign.
RobO Q Campaign Generator -- archived classic CMBB/CMAK tool!

Was looking forward to this as well but the impression from that review leaves a lot to be desired....
A War of a Madman's Making - a text-based war planning and political survival RPG

It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge.  War endures.  As well ask men what they think of stone.  War was always here.  Before man was, war waited for him.  The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.  That is the way it was and will be.  That way and not some other way.
- Cormac McCarthy, Blood Meridian

If they made nothing but WWII games, I'd be perfectly content.  Hypothetical matchups from alternate history 1980s, asymmetrical US-bashes-some-3rd world guerillas, or minor wars between Upper Bumblescum and outer Kaboomistan hold no appeal for me.

I guess it's sort of nice that the word "tactical" seems to refer to some kind of seriousness during your moments of mental clarity.

There are plenty of other reviews out there if you want to get a broader spectrum of opinions.

Picked this up and I gotta say, I'm pleasantly surprised.  There's definitely a fair amount of jank, but as a pretty casual one-man-army turn-based tactics game, it really delivers a satisfying experience.  I also think the replays are pretty cool despite the janky animations.  Witnessed some pretty cool moments in my first couple hours of play.  After an extended hand to hand fight, it was pretty damn satisfying watching Keanu shoot a disarmed boss in the back just as he was running away for cover.  He survived and I had to play a bit of cat-and-mouse chasing him around his office, trying to get a good shot on him while he desperately scampered for his gun.  Finally I cornered him and put a bullet straight into his forehead, putting him down.   :coolsmiley:

If the boss was responsible for killing John Wick's dog, he had it coming.
