Wasn't sure if anyone had seen this. There is a great write up about it on another site. I'm DYING for a good simulation of the 7 Years War and other conflicts of the mid 18th century. Looks like the guy making it is the same guy who made "Seven Years War" which was a great game but needed better graphics  and documentation.

"The mix of game depth, historical accuracy and smooth gameplay. Let me compare two well-known representatives of historical strategy games we have seen so far: Total War series with great graphics and user-friendly UI but lacking historical accuracy and hardly any game depth, while Scourge of War has great complexity and accuracy, but heavy UI and some players have found it a bit boring.

Our aim is to be somewhere in the middle, while not losing the important elements of both sides."

It'll be interesting to see how many of olivers concepts from the seven years war are transplanted into tactician, judging by the title his economics system might be phased out

Good riddance.

Economics / production system in Seven Years War was baffling and opaque in the extreme. Oliver K. did, to his credit, introduce an "AI control" feature for the economy, although that raised the question of what it was doing in the game in the first place. The game's strength is its tactical battles. Collecting loam to build bricks to build workshops etc. etc. was just confusing and annoying.

Removing the economics system and improving the GUI would be major strides forward. I liked the 18th-c. aesthetic of Seven Years War's UI but overall it was very hard and unintuitive to use.
