Quote from: Pete Dero on Yesterday at 03:27:16 PMI'm really enjoying Galactic Civilizations IV Supernova.  So far I played with peaceful opponents to learn, but my next game will be with more aggressive civilizations.
And Command Modern Operations for some real wargaming.

I agree 100%

Just about to win my first game on normal as i am a relative newb to this series and I have had a wild ride with it and thought I was going to go under at one point. Also loving the aesthetics of this one.
The new Warlords expansion in the next month promises to improve things a lot in relation to combat though I have found things up top my level already :-)

Quote from: Anguille on Yesterday at 04:58:45 PMMostly Star Trek Infinite so far. Lost my first game with the Klingons. Started a new attempt with the Federation.
Did this one end up being any good compared to Stellaris? I mean stellaris with a star trek mod has so many more features right?

Ok. It is officially dead. no more updates confirmed after only 6 months of steam store time. My problem with this is that they could not possibly have brought this game up to stellaris feature complete standards by then?

This should simply have been an addon for stellaris. That way it would keep any features stellaris addons and mods could bring.

Better to be the knucklehead who calls in what turns out to be a false alarm than the a-hole who doesn't call in the one that turns out to be real.

I have absolutely no purple or aqua milk crates full of unplayed board games.

I keep them on book case shelves like a civilized person, spread through every single room of my house.

Anguille -- Interested in your take on Star Trek Infinite.  Don't care about multiplayer or Star Trek canon.  How is it as a single player 4X?

Yeah, I certainly don't have grocery sacks full of games filling a shelf in the closet.

There's no way I have milk crates in my office closet right now filled with games I bought forty years ago that I have never played.

I have absolutely no frame of reference for this picture...   :lipsrsealed:

Quote from: Destraex on March 28, 2024, 04:41:17 PM.....I am pretty excited about this one still because I am pretty sure they will do an amazing job with the ships over and above what naval action already did very well. I hope we will be pulling individual sails up and down because sea legends is described as a simulator.

Full comprehensive age of sail sailing simulation with leeway, windshadows, wind gusts, individual sail and yard control, cargo placements, crew divisions all viewed and managed from ship deck. "

Wow I hope they are serious.  A  simulation of sailing like that has never been done before. I understand that Game Labs initially considered the idea for NA. It will not appeal to the MP mass. The only way to do this a SP game. I hope they a can pull elements from writers's such as PatrickO'Brian, C.S. Forester, etc

Excellent post. My primary worry is that their does not seem to be any official Jack Aubrey character role that serves legitimately in a Navy capacity rather than a letter or marque privateer one. But yeah great books. I finished all the C.S. Forester Hornblower books and have read probably 5 or so Patrick O'Brian ones. Nathaniel Drinkwater ones I consumed as well. Wanted to look at the Dudley Pope ones, I think he had some sailing ones. Will probably wait for this to release to look at that though. Currently reading Dudley Popes "Flag 4: The Battle Of Coastal Forces In The Mediterranean" about torpedo boats in the mediteranean.
