It's amazing what footage from the beginning of the war looks like when compared to that. That could almost have been shot yesterday except for tbe B and W.

I'm not a fan of MacArthur, but he was impressive during that ceremony.

I was watching his body language as he made his way across the ship with Nimitz. Talk about an ego. Nimitz had to struggle to keep up. It was Nimitz's ship, and yet MacArther didn't seem to give him the time of day. That didn't sit well with me.

I did like how we made the Japanese sit there and watch as a dozen countries signed the document. It really brought home how much of the world they were up against. Pageantry, I know, but good.

I've seen this before and it is always cool to see again. One thought struck me watching this again. I wonder what happen to all those pens that were handed out?
