Title: Never straight and FRIDAY
Post by: Crossroads on March 10, 2017, 05:22:36 AM

Today I will continue to throw British Steel at Gaddafi's finest with the ongoing PBEM vs Berto.

At least he made Friday all CAPS.  It's helpful to put it in a line from the song though ;)

Any gaming done for sure this weekend will be Saturday night.  I am in the midst of trying to put together the next D&D campaign, but the regular group will be coming to play some party games anyways.  Digitally, I am in a bit of a slump.  I don't really feel like playing much of anything.

So many rules broken in the OP that I think this whole thread needs to be closed and restarted.  ;)

What and how much I play this weekend is going to depend on how I feel. Been fighting off The Plague 2017 Part 3 for the last two weeks now. Getting better but still not close to feeling 100% better. There will definitely be some CMANO and Ghost Recon Wildlands. Probably be some World of Warcraft dungeons and some World of Warships with some friends. Have SP game of Stellaris I'm probably going to throw out with a major patch/DLC just a few weeks away but MP might a possibility depending on TheHisoticalGamer's schedule.

Given how I've been lately, I'm just as likely to not touch anything above and play something not on my radar at the moment.

Back from the sun and a 'net black hole I'm ready for some gaming.

PBEM Labyrinth with SDR... Trying to make friends around the world, especially the ones with oil,  while the bad guys blow shit up.
PBEM Flashpoint Campaigns: Reforged with OJsDad.... slowly grinding down a tough US force with arty, chemicals and air power... not sure who will run out of strength first.

Civ VI on super mondo huge map of earth as Egypt on King level. Game is fun but AI needs a LOT of work still.

On the table I have The War from Compass games all setup. I'm going through the tutorial scenarios before starting the main event. Only a 130 pages of rules to digest.  :wow:

Not sure about the weekend gaming. The Matrix Steam sale is luring me into some my wallet. Thinking about "Wars of Napoleon" or "Victory and Glory: Napoleon".

You & I both, MD.

I've only gamed on a computer twice in the past month.  Last was over two weeks ago.  Still no urge.

It's a long hiatus!  :crazy2:

Will be finishing up Sniper Elite II, then going back to Witcher III and Medieval II for a while before jumping into new games like Dishonored 2, Battlefield 1 and Total War: Warhammer.

I've been in a severe gaming funk of late, depression of a sorts I guess along with a severe lack of motivation for any sort of gaming, Still I continue to lurk here for inspiration and the hope I can get some of that joy back.

I'm going to sink a few hours into Zelda on the Switch. It's not war but it is oddly soothing.

Lots of Slitherine stuff on sale on Steam too so I'm tempted to buy something new to cheer myself up. Maybe Distant Worlds as it's so cheap.

Is Last Days of Old Earth any good? Looks tempting.

Since it is Priest, your Friday thread transgressions are forgiven, go in peace. Now if that was some Bon Jovi sh*t we'd throw you into the Iron Maiden.

My gaming funk must really and truly be behind me as I'm again looking through my backlog with happy joy joy feelings. There will be some pbem CSME as the battle for Sirte#1 continues. Libya may not hold Sirte but we are exacting a heavy price from the British. I reinstalled the free stand alone Dark Mod for thief, will probably tackle a mission or two. Also getting the urge to straight up blast some sh*t so will look through the library for some fun run and gun, leaning toward one of the Serious Sams.

Battle Academy...grabbed the freebie offer.

I too am in a slump, aside from Emperor ROTMK, that's been it. I might grab Polaris Sector.

Aside from working this weekend but home by noon in both cases, that's it.

Yet another bloke here in the midst of a slump; I haven't felt like playing much of anything these last few days.  (Maybe some Warhammer TW or BOTF if I can muster the energy for it?  I dunno.)  It's probably just as well that I'm early on into a ten-day stretch at work, and will be subsequently too occupied to have much time for gaming this weekend.  :-\

I'm mightily tempted by "Hannibal: The Terror of Rome" DLC for Alea Jacta Est for $10. But with my current game of Ceasar vs Pompey still 70+ turns from ending, I don't know when I'd the time to play it.  :pullhair:

same here. I keep prodding things with the toe of my armoured sandal, but nothing really grabs me. I'm spending more time playing board wargames either solo or on Vassal.

Had that breather over the last several weeks.  Now in the mood.   ::)Rome II Emp Edition has been a drug this last week...Roman legions are focusing on destroying barbarians, while keeping a weather eye on Persians...they are stirring up a storm and approaching Greece.  And up for some World of Warships later in the evenings....the German Roon and Bismarck..US Iowa...and all the Tier IX/X "save my ship" crap that comes with 'em........ ::)

I reckon I'm going to split my time between Morrowind and Total War: Rome 2 Greek campaign.

If neither of those scratches the itch, then it will be back to the old standbys of CK2 and Scourge of War: Gettysburg.

All excellent, satisfying choices.

Inspired by Airboy's AARs, I picked up Order of Battle: Pacific Pack from Steam's sale.

Can't go wrong with 46 missions for $21.80.

Have you picked up any of Sy Turney's Marius Mules books? He began by self publishing books based on Gallic Wars but with people around Caesar as main protagonist. He picked a publisher a while ago, but many of the Kindle books are from a couple of bucks to five bucks at Amazon. Highly recommended for some light reading. He's about to deliver his tenth book to the series, it's been a fun travel with him.

Mules I is just 1.23, give it a try  :nerd:

They look interesting, might break my spell of not reading fiction for them. The price is particularly alluring....

The price, and the fact he was self publishing did it for me. Plus the fact he's active with his Facebook, answering questions, telling about his next projects.

Here's his web page: http://www.sjaturney.co.uk

Just beat Sniper Elite II. Cool game if not a triple A title. And some great set-pieces. Will definitely get the other games when they go on sale.

Did a little bit of WoW Friday night. Saturday, I had my son get me started on Vicky 2. Put a lot of time in for the remainder of the weekend. Also picked up Thea on sale and played a little of that, not enough to format not opinion yet.
