Devil's Attorney, for the iPad, is a great little game if you're interested in courtroom-type games.

In this one, you play a lovable but somewhat sleazy defense attorney, trying to get all kinds of bad apples off the legal hook. Each of your cases starts with a Case Strength (which is like hit points, and can be upgraded with skills down the road), while the prosecutors have witnesses, evidence, and other shenanigans they can pull to 'attack' your case's credibility. Your objective is simple - to win each case by using skills and eliminating the prosecutor's weapons.

Once you win, you get paid (if you win within a certain number of rounds, you get a bonus), which you can use to upgrade your pad, or later your clothing, or even later, your Ferrari. Each of these upgrades strengthens you in some way, whether unlocking new skills or enhancing existing ones. The people you defend are caricatures usually, but are quite funny (like a Rick Astley clone, or a Terminator clone); much of the game is tongue-in-cheek.

The game's real time to shine is during the 'pre trial' phase; just before each case, Max (the guy you play) interacts with the prosecutor (of which there are several). Each one has a distinct personality and the interactions and dialog they have is truly entertaining.

There's about 60 cases you can play through, which all builds up to the ending case, as well as a further ending, which I won't get into here. Suffice it to say, for a minor time-waster, this game is not only inexpensive but highly entertaining for the money.
