Pretty nifty looking game

I've been following the game with interest since it was announced.

However, can't spend any time looking at the rules right now - I'm scheduled for some Conflict of Heroes this afternoon and can't afford to confuse my brain with two sets of rules at the same time.
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

I've had the opportunity to play test the game me a couple of times with Mark. It is a good time driving the land battleships over the map.  8)

I'd like to see it done as a minis game.

OH...MY...GAWD

Gus, you've got to try Dystopian Wars if you're that serious about a steampunk minis game.

Here, I've posted some works in progress of some of my land minis:

...and a Sky Fortress. Just because I love you.

I don't think he's ever held a boardgame in his hands.

^Au contraire. One of my very first reviews for the Wargamer was GMT's Prussia's Glory, assigned by...you LB. Take that!

However that was also the last board game I reviewed and that was 2002.

The above images are like porn to me. I see that Steam & Steel requires two to play...crap. Can Dystopian Wars be played solo?

Hmmm. I had forgotten that.

Can DW be played solo? Well, yes, as much as any game can be played solo. It would be like playing Chess with yourself, but there is nothing inherent in the rules that prohibits you from doing so. There is a card system in the game, but I usually play without it. That would be the only mechanic that is "secret" from the other player.

Sounds kinda creepy. Better to play with at least one other person I am guessing. I guess I'm out...:(

Wanna know a secret about minis?

They look good on a shelf. ;)

Seriously, if you're at all interested, buy some, paint them, and leave them scattered around your desk at work and your shelves at home. DW minis aren't that expensive and they look *awesome*.

You could, theoretically, play a forum or vassal-driven game.
