Ladies and Gentlemen Please!
Could you bring your attention to me?
A feast for your eyes to see.
An explosion of catastrophe!
Getting along here is fairly simple. We don't believe in complex rules or lengthy fine print. Folks do not need to all agree with one another but let's be nice if and when we don't agree.
To that end, here's what it takes to get along in here and thrive:
- Don't do or suggest anything that could end up putting you (or us) in jail.
- Be nice and respect others' opinions. You don't have to agree or like what they say, but don't be a jerk about it.
- Don't consume the Mods' attention in a negative way. We're here to help. We're glad to clarify. We like to give service with a smile. But if you draw too much negative attention for too long our patience does have limits.
Welcome to the show...
where's the AGW forum? ;D
I'm impressed that you could spell etiquette!!!
I had to look it up to be sure. It's not a word I use commonly. :o
Just to follow up a bit. Those rules might seem a little silly-sounding, but our focus here is to provide a community where we can all interact and have a good time. We can disagree - heatedly, even - but ultimately we need to understand that there's a real person on the other end of your messages, and that there's not much out there that's worth a digital jihad.
Have fun.
Don't get anyone arrested.
Don't waste the mods time.
Management and ownership are pretty unified on this - there's no 'wiggle room' between their positions.
Very important question (because I really have no idea what you mean by it)...
what do you mean by 'wasting the mods time'??
Seriously, I don't know what that would comprise of? Maybe some parameters here?
Facilitating a heated discussion about flat vs tapered paint brushes?
Putting little electrical tape 'x's on nipple pictures?
Removing Spammy stuff?
what??? is there a formula? Is it sorta like the greater the PITA factor the more likely it will be judged wasting mod time????
Damn there is so much uncertainty in that rule....

This post is a waste of my time. :P
In all seriousness, use common sense. Typically, educated individuals will know when they are crossing the line.
Since when is the quest for clarity (especially rules/regulations/laws/etc.) a waste of time to a lawyer???
Oh the horror....

As a civil defense attorney, confusion is my friend. The plaintiff, ie. the one complaining, ie. you, had the burden of proof to set forth his claim by a preponderance of the evidence. When facts are unclear and confused, the jury usually errs on the side of a defense verdict. Yay!
In any event...Grogheads is not a Court of law. Its a private internet forum.

The point is quite clear in #3 in the OP:

If you can't figure that out, your time here is likely to be short.

Famous MSFT interview question: "Why are manhole covers round?"
I wish I wish I wish I had replied, "It helps with the airbag deployment."
