Quote from: Destraex on Yesterday at 04:41:17 PM.....I am pretty excited about this one still because I am pretty sure they will do an amazing job with the ships over and above what naval action already did very well. I hope we will be pulling individual sails up and down because sea legends is described as a simulator.

Wow I hope they are serious.  A  simulation of sailing like that has never been done before. I understand that Game Labs initially considered the idea for NA. It will not appeal to the MP mass. The only way to do this a SP game. I hope they a can pull elements from writers's such as PatrickO'Brian, C.S. Forester, etc

I like the idea. But I don't know that it would be workable.

Quote from: Destraex on Yesterday at 04:51:06 PMA real shame as even if players do not play multiplayer a lot practise single player knowing that one day the opportunity to playnwith friends or against them is an option. That is usually my philosophy when buying games. I want to know their is something more at the end of the single player experience with it's often limited AI.

You have a lot of competition in this area of which most have multiplayer:
Warno
Combat mission
Broken arrow

Plus a tonne of operational level games that often have multi

I will stick to warno but know that I would probably like your game better if it had multiplayer coop.

There is also a large contingent of people that like this type of game and don't have any desire to have a multiplayer component.  Moreover, they lament the amount of developer time that has recently been devoted to multiplayer at the expense of the single player experience.

There are a lot of multiplayer wargames, but there is still a market for single player wargames.  It is a rare specimen, and often requires a large budget, to pull off both with one title.

Missed opportunity as far as I am concerned. I know I am in the minority on this forum when it comes to multiplayer and thus will be outgunned on this topic. But that's fine. I often lament the time spent developing for console and other games for single player. But for games like armored brigade... this game is one best served against or with a human player where possible. As for single player being rare.... it was the rule for wargames for a very long time. 1v1 being the only relief. Then we got more coop games and now we are still limited when it comes to pure wargames. It's rare with the more complicated wargames to get anything but 1v1 still.
What will you do when A.I. comes proper to play against? Now that would be something. It's coming. Nvidia already has a service for it as do many other startups.

Trailer didn't really show much but I am a Game Labs fanboi. I hope there are coastal fortifications players can bombard and duel with. The mention of 'pure single player' warms the cold ashes of my gaming heart.

Combat mission is only PVP.  I'd love to see them add coop.  You could finally pull off the multi battalion scenario by delegating different taskforces to your buddies.

Looks pretty good, I don't mind the single player focus, but I'd at least think there should be the ability to coop with friends.  Look how much play helldivers gets with it's pve coop.

The boarding will have to be fps combat, I'm sorry but if we're going to be doing things with more sim level focus, how is boarding going to be some rock, paper, scissors mini game ?

Still, I look forward to see what the come up with.

Strange way of doing it. I initially read it as the early access module being $20 and you get the full map later or later you pay $40 in ealry access when the larger map is available even if its still early access.

I wonder what the reason was for the devs deciding to release a smaller map first. Must be a vast area to model?
