Just when you thought this franchise couldn't be beaten down any further

QuoteSarah Connor isn't the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role. Nor is she Hamilton's steely zero body-fat warrior in 1991's T2. Rather, the mother of humanity's messiah was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. Since then, she's been raised by (brace yourself) Schwarzenegger's Terminator—an older T-800 she calls "Pops"—who is programmed to guard rather than to kill. As a result, Sarah is a highly trained antisocial recluse who's great with a sniper rifle but not so skilled at the nuances of human emotion.

Sir Slash

The failed TV show had some good moments but also never could quite figure-out what to do with the Sarah Conner character either. A heroic death would be my suggestion.
"Take a look at that". Sgt. Wilkerson-- CMBN. His last words after spotting a German tank on the other side of a hedgerow.

I never really got into SCC, but this is one of the best scenes I've ever watched in a TV show

Fantastic, Matt Smith will be in there.  Doctor Who vs The Terminator!
"I will return before you can say 'antidisestablishmentarianism'."

"A man may fight for many things. His country, his principles, his friends. The glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn."

Silent Disapproval Robot

Shame they cancelled that show.  It started out weak but got very good by the second season.

I agree. I mentioned in another thread that I was quite interested in where the writers were going with Shirley Manson's character, the T-1000  passing as 'Catherine Weaver', and her apparent schism with Skynet.

Silent Disapproval Robot

I think she was going to go back in time to the mid-90s and form a mediocre alterna-chick band.

Staggerwing

Ha!
I liked her band, Garbage, and IIRC she was the only girl in it. Also, I'd be more apt to consider them 'power pop' with a little New Wave and grunge thrown in rather than applying the tepid and unspecific term 'alternative' to describe them. Kind of an Earlier Blondie for the 90's as it were.

Garbage was a great band! With Butch Vig on drums IIRC.

I also enjoyed the Sarah Connor Chronicles but I agree that it felt as if the writers really didn't know where to take the story.

We can't live under the threat of a c*nt because he's threatening nuclear Armageddon.

GDS_Starfury

back in the day this was a floor filler and usually a jump off point to much harder music.

Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

Seconded!  Garbage was one of my favorite bands from the 90's.

Shudder. Can't see her without unseeing her brother. That particular video makes me feel like I have cataracts, too.

Still always liked her music. Her video for The World Is Not Enough was practically her audition for a role as a Terminator though it took, what, ten years longer?   8)

Well if you're excited to see a rehash of all the scenes you enjoyed in T1 and T2, this movie might be for you

Or maybe you could just watch T1 and T2.

And holy f*ck! I'm so sick of hearing "we can stop Judgement Day!" The Connor's need to get it through their heads that no matter how many Kyle Reeses or Terminators they send back through time, they ain't stopping goddamned Judgment Day.

It's apparently a total reboot (abandoning the "Salvation" quasi-reboot storyline), so there's no reason they can't hope to stop JD.
