Really looking forward to this new John Gorkowski design.  Just got an email from Compass that it is on target for April release.  Includes the naval war...sorely missed in many other grand strategic WWI games.

Even more WWI goodness coming from Compass Games and ADG....  Basically World in Flames for WWI.....

http://compassgames.com/index.php/preorders/fatal-alliances-the-great-war.html

and speaking of World in Flames, looks like "Blitz: A World in Conflict" is...well....here is what the marketing blurb says:

Blitz! A World in Conflict merges all of the fun of a wild all-out attacking beer-and-pretzel game together with the proven accuracy of World in Flames™. Players do all of the fun things (build your forces and attack!) but little of the work that historical games usually require. Quick rules for veterans gamers (<1 page) will have experienced gamers up and running in minutes.

I would actually like to see a nice grand strategic WWII game playable in 8 hours (the length of time of game group has for a weekend meeting.)  So I am interested...

There are a couple of really nice-looking games coming from Compass, from some designers I really like.  But every time we we've reached out about reviews, ads, etc. we get nothing.  No response.  No... nothing.  Not even a "thanks, but no thanks."

That is rude.

I got nothing from 'em either. I don't see that as all that big a deal.

Maybe they found that answering caused some folk caused problems.

Lots of chrome...naval combat...air combat...leaders....diplomacy

Looks like it could be a good alternative to laying down $250 - $500 for Azure Wishes OOP "La Grande Guerre."
