Prepar3D

Can you guys who use Prepar3d explain it to me? It looks like crap...is it really this bad out of the box? Does it need 3rd party add-ons to make it look even semi-good? What am I missing?

Yeah, it's a money pit for addons but it's the most complete sim all around at the moment once you get the major addons.  Asid has been doing military stuff with it and loves it.  Unless you really are a flight enthusiast you will probaly be fine with xplane.

P3D really is just MSFS under a different flag.
All stuff stand for this title just as much as it did for MSFS: you definately need addons and once you do have a few you realised you've just jumped into the rabbit's hole all over again! :)

P3D with Orbx global scenery and PMDG's 737 is an amazing experience.
But! VR is a pain in the ass and unlike Xplane, P3D still uses the ancient 'ground movement vs flight' logic and all runways are flat without slopes.
