the main mall that's a mile the other direction is closed b/c about a dozen stores on the ground floor are flooded.

Weren't you the one bragging about all the sun and heat you were getting while the rest of us were being buried in snow?
You do know where you can find sympathy right? Between shit and syphilis in the dictionary.  L:-)

we needed the rain

we didn't need it all in one day

I'm on the side of the hill, so the street in front of me looks like a waterpark, but our place is fine

Damn. That's going to be some interesting soccer game there. More like Water Polo.

At least the soccer games will be more interesting to watch.

That light pole stands over the sidewalk that about 8-10 feet above the normal creek levels.

Get a gondola and go make some money.

Get a gondola and go make some money.

Or drown when the gondola flips.

This is BB we're talking about. The Good Lord above is not even half way done with him yet, so...he should get that gondola.

Good point. No way the universe is letting him off that easy.

Exactly. Drowning in a flood? I think not. Something much more grand must be in the offing.

Creek's normal level is 4-1/2 feet.  Flood stage is 11 feet.  Crested this morning at 21.8 feet, just short of a 'double flood'

Bad news?  The basin is very narrow and fills up in a hurry, especially since a lot of residential development funnels downhill into the creek and its feeders.

Good news?  It drains really damn fast, and despite 9 inches of rain in 36 hours, the creek is almost below flood stage about 12 hours after the rain stopped.

It's going to really suck downstream though.
