Anyone have any experience with or thoughts on 1944: Race to the Rhine?  Interesting it has a solitaire mode. And Patton vs. Monty.

When I was in the US Army (oh...so long ago), they had a training boardgame called Logwar.  Basically about war in Europe, except that the players were not responsible for the front line, but just the rear area, and logistics.  This game seems to be a similar concept.  So kind of interested in maybe picking this one up.

I had not heard of it.  Thanks for sharing.

Frankly, I've got to find me a place to order "Days of Honor", the card game further down the page.

What are the odds there'll be another game on THAT topic?

You didn't know? My Corps has already sailed to Berlin. We got there 3 days ago and we've been in the Tiergarten on the piss ever since. -- Marshal Soult, October 1806

I have it, and we've played it at the office a couple times.

Short review:

It has been very popular; you need a solid mix of forward strategic planning and a dash of luck to make it through.

It is a game that's different enough that you'll need to sit down and play it before you're really comfortable with the system.
