Actually good article from cracked on how bad some board games are.  Have to agree this time with the Cracked people.

I'm not so sure about all of them, but Chutes & Ladders and Monopoly are definitely exercises in masochism.

I'd go with pretty much everything on this list, but there's 1-2 substitutions to the substitutions I'd make instead...

Arctic Blast

I have no idea how you go from Snakes & Ladders to Alien Frontiers. Monopoly to Power Grid is a bit odd as well. Of course, I'm not the biggest fan of Power Grid, so that certainly doesn't help.  :D
