So, see title... What does everyone use?

Looking to get a set of studio monitors and an external DAC due to modern PC speakers looking like plastic got pieces of sheet.

I use Bose companion 20 speakers.  They are expensive, but look and sound great imho.

Orb audio speakers. Like Bison said, they are expensive but do sound good. And they are really cool looking!

Along the way, I've managed to get a set of JBLs with a separate bass speaker - not top of the line, but a helluva lot better than the usual stuff.  Love the bottom end shake when firing guns but the Mrs. isn't quite so fond of it, unfortunately.

I have had the same Creative Labs speakers for 5+ years.  Can't tell you the model here at work, but they were $400 at the time.  Quite happy with them.
